Owners of lands in the way of “Trakia” highway – compensated

The sum that will compensate the owners of lands in the region of Sliven is 219 000 leva. The money are provided by the National agency “Road infrastructure” (NAPI).

The affected properties are in the villages Sabrano, Zagortsi, Stoil voivoda, Dyadovo, Ezero, Polsko Padarevo and Omarchevo (all in the municipality of Nova Zagora) and the villages Bikovo, Skobelevo, Bozadjii, Chokoba and the city Kermen (all in the municipality of Sliven).

The local governor Hristina Cholakova noted however, that in some cases the compensation might prove less than the actually losses of the citizens.

When the owner of the land can’t be identified or his address is unknown, the terrain is considered expropriated from the day the investor transfers money for the compensation to the local governor.

The people have yet to prove to the local governor their ownership over the affected lands. The total area of expropriated land is 141 decares.
