Grand chess master Kiril Georgiev second in Barcelona

The bulgarian grand chess master Kiril Georgiev finished second in the final rankings of the tough tournament of XIV category of FIDE in the Catalan capital Barcelona.

Georgiev finished the tournament with 6,5 points, that being half of the final result of the winner Alexey Dreev from Russia. Antoaneta Stefanova, the only lady competing in the tournament, lost in the 9th round from the american Boris GulkoРѕ.

The ex-world champion shares her fifth place in the rankings with the cuban Fidel Korales Himenes with (4,5 С‚.). For his second place, Kiril Georgiev will receive 1 200 euro from the fund and a cup.
