Despite fierce competition, the 21 year old student in UNSS Svetlana Simonova won the title of the first “Miss Belogradchik Rocks” competition. The contest in support of the natural phenomenon – contender for new seven wonders of the world – took place in the summer theatre of the city.

Nineteen ladies from Sofia, Burgas, Vidin, Lom, Belogradchik and other cities competed for the crown. The natives of the city weren’t particularly satisfied with the jury’s decision, hoping that a girl from Belogradchik would win.

The crown of the beauty was given to her by the current “Miss Bulgaria” Antonia Petrova. The mayor of the city Emil Tsankov adorned her with the winner’s ribbon.

The blue-eyed lady Svetlana Simonova, cadre of the fashion agency “Visage”, admitted that she’s visiting Belogradchik for the first time. “However I like the city very much, and I will do my best at popularizing the phenomenon worldwide”, said she.
