Bulgaria won four medals at the Judo World Championship for veterans which took place in Stuttgart. More than 900 competitors from 42 countries took part in the Championship.

Despite the heavy competition, the Bulgarian jЕ«deki were exceptionally successful, winning four medals and one fifth place.

In the group up to 73 kilograms, Pavel Botev won a silver medal, and in the category up to 100 kilograms Todor Todorov also won a silver medal.

Stanimir Vasilev (also up to 100 kg.) won the bronze medal in the category up to 45 years. Krasimir Hristov almost earned a spot in the top three in the category up to 81 kg., but he ranked fifth.

The Bulgarian competitor in the category up to 50 years and up to 100 kg. Atanas Cholev also earned a bronze medal.
