Finnish tourists increasingly interested in Bulgaria

For the last several years, Bulgaria was the third preferred destination for Finnish tourists after Spain and Greece.

The Finnish ambassador in Bulgaria Kauko Yamsen insists that Finnish tourists are just getting to know Bulgaria as a tourism destination of various opportunities.

During 2006 and 2007, nearly 90 thousand Finnish people visited Bulgaria for their holiday.

The 2008 season marks the first arrival of Finnish tourists in the Bulgarian ski resorts. Nearly a thousand Finnish people visited the Bulgarian mountain resorts.

According to Yamsen, the Finnish are well-acquainted with the spa and healing tourism opportunities of Bulgaria, but have yet to discover the possibilites for cultural tourism.

The ambassador marks the lack of information on the latest modern spa resorts as a minus for Bulgarian tourism.
