European deputee elections in Bulgaria – on June 7th

The voting for European deputees from Bulgaria will take place on June 7th (Sunday). This was made clear after the president Georgi Parvanov signed the orders that set the date for the elections of European deputees and that choose a Central voting commission (CIK) today.

On the eve of the voting of changes in election laws, the president warned the deputees that he is ready to call for a referendum, if the parliament disapproves the idea for majority voting of deputees.

According to Parvanov, the nation votes for politicians with character. The president did not elaborate on the number of deputees that need to be chosen with a majority system.
