Dozens of Jews honoured the victims of the Holocaust in the synagogue in Sofia

The Jewish community in Bulgaria honoured Yom HaShoah – the Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is observed as a day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.

The chairman of the National assembly Georgi Pirinski joined the ranks of the Bulgarian jews and honoured Yom HaShoah in the synagogue of Sofia.

The Israeli ambassador Noah Gal Gendler, the ombudsman of the Republic Ginio Ganev and others also attended the mourning ceremony.

The ceremony was lead by Robert Jerassi, chairman of the Central Israeli spiritual council. Two prayers were read in the memory of the slaughtered Jews. The presentation of the ninth grader Violeta Kostadinova dedicated to the Holocaust was also shown during the ceremony.
