Burgas initiates a Charter for the Black Sea

A charter for assistance in safeguarding of the Black Sea’s future was signed yesterday, coinciding with the International day, dedicated to the Black Sea. Along the mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov and his member of parliament on matters concerning ecology Ivelina Vasileva, the document will also be signed by all mayors of cities in coastal municipalities. Invitations for the ceremony were also extended to the consuls of Romania, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Belarus and Ukraine.

Twelve years ago, on the International day of the Black Sea – October 31st, the “Strategic plan for restoration and safety of the Black Sea” was signed. The treaty charted the course of ecological action of the countries in the region.
