Bulgarian teenager first in Europe

Vasil Pavlevchev (17) won the golden medal and the wreath of laurels on the mythology and culture test and won first place in the football competition as a a part of the united European team in the Grand Finals of the European project for collaboration between schools – the “Komenski” program that took place in Bari, Italy on January 30th.

Vasil Pavlevchev competed with finalists from the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and Greece and impressed the official guests of the Grand Finals with the fact that he defeated the Greek participant in a dispute regarding ancient Greek mythology. This isn’t the first European success of the young Bulgarian. For two consecutive years, he defended his excellent knowledge in English in prestigious universities in London and Oxford.
