The Bulgarian poet Ivan Esenski received a medal ‘For a deserving contribution to the culture of the Balkans and Europe’ from the ‘East-West’ academy during the international poetic festival in Romania.

For 10 days artists from 68 countries visited different historical villages in Romania and read 1001 poems, dedicated to peace, beauty and comprehension between people.

During the event tri author readings were made – by the Japanese poet Kae Mori, by Ahmet Emin Atasoy from Turkey and by Ivan Esenski from Bulgaria.

The three works were honoured at this year festival and received the right to open with their own performance the event at the festive hall of the Union of the Romanian writers in Bucharest in the presence of the Ministers of Culture and Finances of Bulgaria’s northern neighbour.

Ivan Esenski performed with an author work at the ‘Florika’ villa, too, which is owned by the famous family Bratiyanu, from which come many Romanian politicians, intellectuals and social figures.
