Bulgarian girl won a bronze medal in USA

The Bulgarian swimmer Desislava Stamatova qualified for the national championship for Synchronized Swimming of the US.

The regional competition for the “B” zone (the northern states) took place during the weekend in the Chicago suburb Des Plaines.

“B” zone includes all clubs and teams from Illinois and the nearby states Michigan and Indiana. The Bulgarian girl won a bronze medal in the 11-12 year old age group.

The Bulgarian presence near the swimming pool was significant. The trainer of the host team “AquaSprites” is Ivelina Zografova. She has been training American teenagers the synchronized swimming sport for seven years now.
