Bulgarian among the victims of the floods in Turkey

A Bulgarian citizen died from the floods in Turkey. This was announced by the spokesman of the foreign ministry Dragovest Goranov in a broadcast of Nova TV.

The dead Bulgarian person wasn’t the driver of the vehicle during the incident. His body was found and his relatives were sent to recognize the body, clarified Goranov. He added that his name will be revealed after his identity is verified.

According to the first investigations, the Bulgarian citizen was hitchhiking and traveled in a truck, which was flooded in Istanbul. Goranov added that the driver of the truck is missing, but the vehicle and personal belongings of the driver have been found.

“The Bulgarian citizen was in the truck of one of his friends. The truck got into heavy traffic, and then the wave hit them. The driver managed to escape, but his companion drowned,” explained Goranov.
