Bulgaria ready to open the border with Greece

“Bulgaria is fully prepared and works intensively on the construction of the new border checkpoints that will connect us to Greece better.”

Those were the words of the Bulgarian member of parliament-minister of regional development during his meeting with the president of the Greek national construction company “Egnatia Odos”, revealed a reporter of BGNES in Solun.

“We’ve done everything necessary and the Greek side also makes progress, they also work at accelerated pace. Our ambition is to open two border checkpoints next year – Ivailovgrad-Kiprinos and Zlatograd-Termes”, noted minister Mihalevski.

The Makaza pass will be open in 2010. The rest of the border checkpoints will be fully ready in 2012. The road Ivailovgrad-Kiprinos is just about to be finished, and will be ready to use next year.
