Bulgaria is among the countries with the most expensive electricity

Submitted on Monday, 29 June 2009No Comment

“The small and average businesses will bankrupt due to the increasing cost of electricity – between 5 and 15% since July 1st”, said Bojidar Danev, chief of the Bulgarian business chamber. About 90% of the business sector will be damaged, says today’s issue of the newspaper “Sega”.

“An even greater loss of jobs is expected, especially in businesses that deal with products for export”, commented Danev for the newspaper. The reason is the lower cost of electricity with about 40% all across the region, and in most of the EU countries, since the beginning of the crisis.

At the moment, Bulgaria is the leader of expensive electricity.

“The decision to increase the price of electricity is a disaster caused by the government”, stated Dinev.
