The international poker elite arrives in Bulgaria next month. Top players gather in the resort Golden Sands on May 11th to compete for the 100 thousand euro award of the tournament “Balkan Pokernews Challenge”, which aspires to become a traditional annual event.

This was announced by Deyan Yordanov, manager of the Bulgarian branch of Pokerstars – the biggest poker website in the world. “The interest in the game is enormous – we have a thousand newly registered Bulgarian players each week. In our virtual gambling rooms anyone can qualify for the big tournament and try his chances at the 100 thousand euro next month”, commented Yordanov.

“Balkan Pokernews Challenge” will take place between May 11th – 17th in Grand Hotel Casino International in the “Golden Sands” resort. The concept is to turn the popular Bulgarian resort into an attractive poker destination by the early summer. The tournament will attract players from all over Europe, and organizers aim to provide them with a splendid vacation along with the games.
