Berbatov became European chess champion

12-year-old Kiprian Berbatov (cousin of the Bulgarian famous football star Dimitar Berbatov) won the European junior chess championship which took place in the German city Herz. He entered the competition with the highest Elo – 2250, and took the first place with 7 wins, one draw and one loss. Kiprian gathered 7.5 points out of 9.

Bulgaria’s other competitor in the championship – Alexander Monev – took the 17th place with 6 points.
