A Guiness record to be broken in Burgas

The session of the municipality council of Burgas is about to break the Guiness records for length.

The local government debates for over ten hours now and does not seem to intend to stop anytime soon. The main topic in the debate is the budget for 2009.

This topic is now discussed for over seven hours, and the councillors have yet to come to an agreement.

The session itself began with a quarrel.

The main opponents of the suggested budget are the councillors from the political party “Ataka”. They proposed several drastic changes in the budget, which – according to them – reflect the conditions of an economical and financial crisis.
