A five star congress centre and a new mall will be built in Veliko Tarnovo with Israeli funds, announced prof. Krasimir Metodiev, honorary consul of Israel in Bulgaria, during his visit in Veliko Tarnovo. He added that during the last few months the attention of several Israeli corporations, businessmen, and science officials is focused on the region of the Veliko Tarnovo municipality. The Israeli consul expressed his thanks to the businessman Radoslav Radev.

“We work with him actively, and through his firms we’ve completed several projects that already set in motion. They are the building of a new trade centre and a mall on the Varna-Sofia road, a modern five star congress centre on the hill “Sveta Gora”, and other marketplaces. We turn a special attention to tourism, because over 100 thousand Israeli citizens visit Bulgaria on a yearly basis, but unfortunatelly most of them stay at the seaside and don’t visit the central parts of Bulgaria. We plan to divert a huge stream of tourists to Veliko Tarnovo”, said prof. Metodiev.

The possibility to use the airport at Gorna Oriahovica for charter flights from Israel to Veliko Tarnovo was also discussed. This would mean building a new infrastructure in the region, which would allow modern tourism.
