A blue sun dawned for diabetics

The Bridge of lovers near NDK was given a new purpose recently. A unique construction, consisting of two enormous blue circles and ropes transformed the spot in the centre of Sofia.

This week, various light shows will adorn the bridge and the facade of the National palace of culture. They will mark the participation of Sofia in the international campaign “Together against diabetes”, initiated by the United Nations and the International diabetes federation.

The occasion is November 14th – the Worldwide day of struggle against diabetes. The blue circle is the official logo of the campaign “Together against diabetes”.

For a second consecutive year over 300 monuments of culture, emblematic buildings and places all over the world will glow blue – the color of the Earth and the campaign “Together against diabetes”.

The culmination of November 14th in Bulgaria will be the charity concert in Hall 1 of NDK. Some of the most popular Bulgarian pop musicians will participate – Doni and Neti, the band “Te”, the participants from the local Dancing Stars and Music Idol.

Ivan and Andrey, famous TV duo, will be hosts of the event. The money from the concert will be given to the National association for children with diabetes to aid their efforts.
