19,5% of the duty-free zone in Burgas – put up for auction

Submitted on Sunday, 10 May 2009No Comment

The remainder of the governmental share in the Burgas duty-free zone (19,5%) will be sold at an auction. This was made clear by an announcement of the privatisation agency.

The auction will take place early in June.

At the moment the government, the municipality of Bourgas and private shareholders own parts of the duty-free zone.

An increased interest from Bulgarian entrepreneurs that have businesses related to trade and transport of automobiles and excisable goods is expected.

The Burgas duty-free zone was created in 1991, with a peak of income during the late 90s.
