16 Bulgarian sailors abducted by Somali pirates

Sixteen Bulgarians are aboard the cargo ship Malaspina Castle, which is currently abducted by Somali priates.

There are a total of 24 people aboard, coming from Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine and the Philippines. The pirates took the 32 000 tons ship in the morning of April 6th. When it was abducted, it was sailing under the Panamanian flag. This is the fifth vessel that has been abducted for the last two days near the Somali coast.

The ships taken by priates so far have been French, British, Taiwanese, Yemenite and German. According to the safety center of the EU responsible for the region, there is merit to assume that the crew is unharmed.
